Flaming Rooster Smoked Ribs

These ribs are so good you won't ever cook them any other way. With the perfect rub and technique, you will be the master of ribs in your circle of family & friends.

Flaming Rooster Smoked Ribs

Ingredients

For 4 people ()

  • 1 Rub
  • 1 Yellow Mustard
  • 1 Wood for smoking
  • 2 Rack of Rib(s)

Directions

1.  Get the number of racks of ribs you need.  A good rule of thumb 1/2 a rack of ribs per person.

2.  Prep the ribs using the Flaming Rooster Rasta Rib Rub method.  Even if you aren't using that rub you can use the procedure on applying the rub.

3.  Heat the Big Green Egg or Smoker to 200 - 225 degrees.

4.  As a rule of thumb, you will need to smoke the ribs at this temperature 6 - 7 hours.

5.  Smoke the meat with your favorite wood.  Flaming Rooster recommends a Mesquite or Hickory wood.

6.  Smoke the meat until the thickest part of the ribs reaches 160 degrees.  

7.  Once the ribs reache at least 160 degrees, remove from the grill and follow the resting process.

 

Optional Step for additional flavor & moisture: 

*  Mix 3/4 apple cider vinegar and 1/4 cup vegetable oil.  Put it into a spray bottle and apply to the ribs every hour

* For traditional smokers, wrap the ribs in foil after 4 hours and place back on the grill
