Flaming Rooster Smoked Beer Can Chicken


For 6 people ()

  • 1 gallon(s) Water
  • 1 cup(s) Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup(s) Sugar
  • 0.5 cup(s) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Whole Chicken
  • 1 Wood for Smoking
  • 1 Beer Can Chicken Holder
  • 1 Olive Oil
  • 1 Can of Beer


1.  Make the brine for the chicken by mixing the gallon of water, salt, sugar and worcestershire sauce in large pot.  Rinse the whole chicken and submerge in the pot for 4 hours.

2.  After 4 hours remove the chicken from the brine and pat dry.

3.  Apply the Flaming Rooster Roasted Chicken Rub or your favorite rub to the whole chicken.

4.  Get your Big Green Egg or smoker to 225 degrees.  Open the full beer and place the chicken over the can and beer can chicken holder.

5.  Smoke until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165 degrees. Flaming Rooster recommends smoking Chicken with a combination of Apple and Mapple wood.
