Big Green Egg Pumpkin Pie


For 8 people ()

  • 1.5 cup(s) Canned or mashed cooked pumpkin
  • 0.75 cup(s) Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 1.5 teaspoon(s) Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) Nutmeg
  • 0.75 teaspoon(s) Ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) Cloves
  • 3 Eggs (beaten)
  • 1.25 cup(s) Milk
  • 6 ounce(s) Evaporated Milk
  • 1 9" Unbaked Pastry Shell


1.  If you can find a real pumpkin and have the time, take the meat of the pumpkin and boil it for 25 minutes.  Mash the boiled pumpkin down in 1.5 cups - alternative is canned pumpkin, but it won't have the authentic flavor of real pumpkin!

2.  Mix the pumpkin, sugar, salt and spices.

3.  Blend in the eggs, milk and evaporated milk.

4.  Put the unbaked pastry shell in a tin foil pie holder or a oven safe ceramic pie dish.  Pour the mixture into the unbaked pastry shell.

5.  Get the Big Green Egg to 400 degrees, with the baking place setting in place.  Cook for 50 minutes or until you can insert a knife and it comes out clean.

6.  Let cool and serve!
